Nano Banana Photo Editor: Edit Images with Plain Words

Text-to-image makes a new picture from a description. Image-to-image starts from your photo and changes it. Nano Banana does both with the same model, which is why it is so good at keeping a person or product recognizable: it reads your image, then edits it. Use text-to-image for new ideas and image-to-image for anything that has to match a real person, product or place.

The formula is change, then keep: “Replace the background with a snowy forest. Keep the person, their face, hairstyle and clothing exactly the same.” Short, specific edits beat long ones, and several small edits in a row beat one big rewrite. If a face drifts, upload the original again and repeat the keep instruction.
