Nano Banana 4K, Resolution and Aspect Ratios
Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro can output true 4K images; the original Nano Banana and Nano Banana 2 Lite stop at about 1K. Sizes are named 512 px (0.5K), 1K, 2K and 4K, and you choose the shape with an aspect ratio setting.

Aspect ratios
Google’s documentation lists ten standard ratios for the image models: 1:1, 3:2, 2:3, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 16:9 and 21:9. In the Gemini app you ask for the shape in the prompt; in AI Studio and the API it is a setting.
On Nano Banana AI you pick the ratio directly; the Nano Banana models offer 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4.

How to get a sharp 4K image
- Draft at 1K or 2K until the composition is right.
- Rerun the same prompt at 4K with Nano Banana 2 or Nano Banana Pro.
- For older 1K images, upscale them with the AI image upscaler or Topaz Upscale instead of regenerating.
In the Gemini app, downloads are smaller on free accounts than on paid Google AI plans, so the app is not the place for 4K files.
